Hangterra Bamboo Log is a biodegradable erosion-control solution made from mechanically extracted bamboo fibres (HGT-FibreX™). Developed as a nature-based alternative to coir logs, it offers high tensile strength, faster vegetation rooting, and reduced carbon footprint. Designed for hydrological, riverbank restoration, and slope stabilisation projects.
The bamboo log can be carried and installed by 1–2 people without machinery, making it suitable for remote riverbanks, mangrove areas, and community-led restoration where heavy equipment cannot access.
By replacing heavy, carbon-intensive materials like steel, rock, and cement, the bamboo log supports circular and low-carbon development goals under MySTIE 10-10.
The open, breathable fibre matrix supports fast root establishment, enabling vegetation to anchor the log and create long-term, self-sustaining stability.
Made from raw Malaysian bamboo fibre, the log decomposes naturally without leaving metal, plastic, or synthetic residues—making it safe for rivers, mangroves, and coastal ecosystems.
The cylindrical, fibre-based structure conforms to natural contours of riverbanks, slopes, and tidal zones, unlike rigid structures such as gabions or concrete blocks.
