Airestec’s Bioactive Microorganism Enzymatic Cooling Tower Decontamination/Cleaner (BMCTC) is specifically researched, developed and made in Malaysia (Buatan Malaysia) by Airestec, a BioNexus Status company.

BMCTC uses Airestec’s tried-and-tested Multi-Enzyme Technology to tackle biofilm build-up within cooling-tower infills and the wider system. Scientifically formulated to break down and remove biofilm, sludge and microbial contamination, BMCTC helps prevent asset damage and extend equipment life. Removing biofilm also reduces habitats that may support Legionella bacteria, thereby supporting wider cooling-tower hygiene and Legionella risk-management programme.

BMCTC has a neutral pH of 6–8, is non-corrosive and has been tested against specified heavy-metal discharge parameters. Its eco-friendly composition is certified under the SIRIM Eco-Labelling Scheme and achieves approximately 84% biodegradability within 28 days under OECD 301D, supporting its recognition under the MyHIJAU Mark in Malaysia.

By removing biofilm containing bacteria, fungi, mould and algae, BMCTC helps reduce fouling and the need for frequent cooling-tower maintenance. Cleaner infills and heat-transfer surfaces can reduce unnecessary load on chillers, supporting system efficiency, energy performance and a safer, more sustainable operating environment. It is particularly suitable for facility managers and maintenance teams responsible for government facilities, hospitals, data centres, commercial buildings and industrial premises with centralised HVAC systems.

Advanced Multi-Enzyme Technology

BMCTC combines and utilises nano-sized multi-enzyme technology (~7.8 nm) to penetrate and break down biofilms at the molecular level, targeting Legionella bacteria, biofilms (bacteria, fungi, mould and algae), sludge, and organic contaminants within cooling tower systems as compared to conventional chemical treatments. Overall, the BMCTC enables deeper and more effective decontamination to maintain heat extraction and overall reduction in TDS, scaling, biocides, water usage, fouling, corrosion thereby improving water distribution to reduce load on chillers.
