ecoSWAP is a revolutionary, locally developed, fire-retardant engineered wood panel made from industrial waste wood dust designed specifically to protect Malaysia’s vulnerable indigenous longhouse communities in Sarawak from devastating fires. Born out of research at Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS), ecoSWAP has already demonstrated superior fire resistance (Class 1 per BS 476 / ASTM E84), durability, moisture resistance, and anti-termite properties, validated through lab testing and awarded the Silver Medal at ITEX 2024.

The formulation for the epoxy is niche and special according to the properties of engineered wood. It can be fire proof, water proof, and also mechanically strong for the purspose of it applications
