GAMUDA BIMAR is a mobile augmented reality (AR) application that overlays Building Information Models (BIM) directly onto physical construction sites, enabling real-time discrepancy detection and enhanced visual validation to optimise inspection efficiency and significantly reduce costly reworks.
Gamuda BIMAR upgrades field inspections by replacing 2D drawings with a 1:1 scale AR model that brings full BIM capabilities to the site. Engineers can definitively validate design intent using Edge Highlighting for clear depth perception, while the tap-to-reveal Object Information feature allows them to instantly extract material specifications and dimensions, eliminating trips to the office and preventing costly rework before construction advances.
Traditional AR tools struggle to lock digital models onto physical spaces accurately. Gamuda BIMAR eliminates this friction by allowing site engineers to instantly overlay 1:1 scale BIM models simply by scanning a physical QR Tag. For complex environments, the app offers robust Coordinate Anchoring and Feature Anchoring, ensuring the digital model locks flawlessly onto real-world structures. Gamuda BIMAR also provides features such as the Easy Re-anchoring and Manual Adjustment that allow users to recalibrate in seconds.
Site teams can essentially "see through" physical walls, floors, and ceilings to inspect hidden infrastructure before it is built or covered up. By utilising Gamuda BIMAR's Transparency sliders, Isolate/Hide toggles, and discipline-specific Filters, site engineers can instantly declutter the AR environment. This allows them to strip away obscuring architectural layers and focus purely on the exact critical structural or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems they need to inspect, ensuring a targeted and unobstructed verification process.
Gamuda BIMAR serves as a seamless bridge between the office and the site by integrating with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) as the single source of truth. Users can perform their inspections and use the Capture feature to log issues for any discrepancies found on site. These captures are safely queued even when no connection is available and automatically synced back to ACC as Issues once connectivity is restored. This feature provides users a comprehensive tool for documenting and annotating site conditions, facilitating communication and collaboration among project members.
Gamuda BIMAR transforms passive model viewing into an active verification process. The app enables users to transition seamlessly between a standard 3D Viewer and the AR environment depending on their needs. While in AR, the Measure tool allows site engineers to inspect distance metrics between physical on-site elements and the virtual design model. With these features, site teams can perform immediate, real-time tolerance checks directly in the field.
