VL JEJAK is an AI-driven, cloud-based smart waste monitoring system developed to address the inefficiencies and challenges faced by solid waste contractors and local councils in Malaysia. With waste collection and public cleansing services largely privatized, many contractors struggle to ensure consistent work quality, especially in the absence of direct supervision. This often results in public dissatisfaction, contractor penalties, and reputational damage to municipal councils.
VL JEJAK offers a comprehensive digital solution consisting of a mobile application and a centralized dashboard designed to monitor and track two key components: waste collection services (PPS) and public cleansing operations (KPA). Unlike traditional manual reporting via WhatsApp, VL JEJAK automates job scheduling, report generation, and real-time progress tracking accessible to both contractors and the public.
The system utilizes deep learning technology powered by Jetson Nano, with real-time video feeds and RFID sensors mounted on garbage trucks to verify bin collection, assess bin condition, monitor SOP compliance by workers, and detect leachate spills. These insights are processed and uploaded to the cloud for analytics and real-time decision-making.
VL JEJAK is already partially adopted by Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP) under the brand name i-Collect MBSP and is being commercialized through Visionlytics Sdn Bhd under a B2B subscription model. The system is protected by two registered copyrights and one filed patent, making it a scalable and proprietary solution to transform municipal solid waste management in Malaysia.
