Airestec’s Bioactive Microorganism Enzymatic Facade Decontamination/ Cleaner (BMFD) is specifically researched, developed and made in Malaysia (Buatan Malaysia) by Airestec, a BioNexus Status company. It is a proprietary multi-enzyme decontamination solution designed for building facades.
BMFD is a cutting-edge solution using Airestec’s tried-and-tested Multi-Enzyme Technology to break down and remove biofilm, including bacteria, fungi and mould, together with dirt and organic debris from building facades. It performs this without compromising compatible building materials. BMFD is certified under the SIRIM Eco-Labelling Scheme, achieves approximately 82% biodegradability within 28 days and has a neutral pH of 6–8, providing a non-corrosive choice for effective facade cleaning.
BMFD addresses a key challenge for facility managers: maintaining a building’s exterior appearance while controlling costs and extending asset life. It can be used on compatible surfaces including concrete, glass, painted finishes, wood and rubber seals. Its nano-scale formulation of approximately 7.8 nm penetrates cracks, crevices and porous surfaces to break down biofilm bonds and remove embedded fungal and mould growth, helping restore facade appearance and reduce premature deterioration and weathering.
Suitable for government, industrial, commercial, residential and public buildings, BMFD may be applied by an appointed facade contractor using manual access, skylifts or suitable drone-assisted methods. The formulation can also be customised to provide greater product retention for drone-based application.
To support successful implementation, Airestec offers optional SOP training, application guidance and product application audits to help ensure that BMFD is applied in accordance with Airestec’s standards, thereby supporting the intended results. Guidance covers surface assessment, method selection, treatment coverage and completion checks. Buyers can procure BMFD independently and use their preferred facade contractor while retaining access to Airestec’s product-specific technical expertise and standards.
