Bioactive Microorganism Enzymatic Decontamination/Cleaner (BMED) is a Buatan Malaysia product developed by Airestec Innovations Sdn. Bhd., a BioNexus Status company. It is a proprietary multi-enzyme decontamination solution designed for HVAC systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), split units, ceiling cassette systems, and HVAC applications in the automotive, aviation, maritime, and transportation sectors.
BMED utilises nano-sized (7.8 nm) multi-enzyme technology to penetrate and remove biofilms (bacteria, fungi, and mould) at the source which enhances human health, improves quality of life, prevents asset damage, protecting the environment, thereby helps to improve heat exchange efficiency, indoor air quality (IAQ), airflow, energy efficiency, odour control, and equipment lifespan. Its neutral pH (6.0–8.0), non-corrosive formulation is compatible with aluminum, copper, rubber, plastics, wood and coated surfaces.
BMED is certified with the SIRIM Eco-Label for readily biodegradability (85% within 28 days) and the MyHIJAU Mark. It also conforms to aviation standards including Airbus AIMS09-00-002 and Boeing BSS7432, and complies with heavy metal discharge requirements. As a Malaysian green technology solution, BMED supports sustainable facility maintenance, ESG initiatives, and government green procurement objectives.
