PROBLEM STATEMENT & CURRENT ISSUES Traditional peritoneal dialysis presents significant challenges for chronic kidney disease patients, primarily due to the restrictions it imposes on their mobility and independence. Patients are often tied to a machine for several hours each day, disrupting their daily lives and limiting their ability to work, engage in social activities, and maintain a normal routine. This inconvenience is compounded by the high risk of infection, such as peritonitis, which requires strict hygiene protocols that can be difficult to maintain consistently.
