GAMBANG – The MySTI team from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) participated in the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Commercialization Day, held at the UMPSA Gambang Library on October 11 and 12, 2025. This two-day program aimed to strengthen the commercialization ecosystem of university research findings and build strategic networks between researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors. The closing ceremony was officiated by YB Dato' Mohamad Nizar bin Dato' Sri Mohamad Najib, the Pahang State Executive Councilor for Investment, Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation.
Throughout the program, MySTI team conducted specialized knowledge-sharing sessions on funding opportunities and facilitation for local product commercialization. In addition to briefings on the MySTI program, participants were introduced to the National Technology and Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) initiatives and received advisory services from strategic partners such as MTDC, MRANTI, and MYIPO. Alongside the sharing sessions, MySTI also set up an exhibition booth to provide direct consultation to academics and startups regarding product registration criteria under the MySTI platform for government procurement purposes.
MySTI’s involvement in this program demonstrates MOSTI’s continuous commitment to ensuring that university R&D outcomes do not merely remain at the prototype stage but successfully penetrate the market through comprehensive facilitation support. As a key facilitator, MySTI plays a vital role in bridging the gap between academic innovation and the requirements of industry and government agencies. This effort is expected to drive technology-based economic growth and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a competitive technology producer through the sustainable commercialization of local intellectual property.
