MySTI Strengthens Innovation Procurement Agenda at the Highest Level of the Prime Minister's Department

CYBERJAYA – The MySTI initiative was entrusted to deliver a strategic presentation at the Government Procurement Monitoring Meeting (MPPK) No. 3 of 2025, held at Cyberview Resort & SPA, Cyberjaya on October 24, 2025. This high-profile meeting was chaired by the Honorable Dato' Indera, Deputy Secretary-General (Finance & Development) of JPM, and attended by heads of departments and procurement officers from 36 departments and agencies under the Prime Minister's Department (JPM). This session served as a vital platform for MySTI to ensure that the policy on utilizing local Research and Development (R&D) goods and services is effectively implemented at the core of the national administration.

During the presentation, the primary focus was placed on the "Implementation of the Program for the Use of Local R&D Goods and Services (MySTI)" as a mandatory mechanism in driving government procurement priorities toward local innovation. The briefing involved coordination with major federal statutory bodies, including the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), and the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj). This two-way discussion emphasized the importance of preparing inclusive tender specifications and adhering to Treasury Circulars to guarantee the quality and availability of MySTI products in meeting the operational needs of various government agencies.

The success of the presentation at the MPPK level reflects the highest recognition of MySTI's role as a facilitator within the national STI ecosystem. With the direct involvement of policymakers at JPM, MySTI is determined to accelerate technology transfer and R&D commercialization through more stringent and transparent procurement monitoring. This proactive step not only honors homegrown innovations but also strengthens national technological sovereignty in line with the Malaysia Madani aspirations to develop a globally competitive knowledge-based economy.
